FAQ

What is a Webinar?

Web conferencing is used to conduct live meetings, training, or presentations via the Internet. In a web conference, each participant sits at his or her own computer and is connected to other participants via the internet.

A webinar is a term to describe a specific type of web conference. It is typically one-way – from the speaker to the audience with limited audience interaction, such as in a webcast. A webinar can be collaborative and include polling and question & answer sessions to allow full participation between the audience and the presenter.

In some cases, the presenter may speak over a standard telephone line, while pointing out information being presented onscreen, and the audience can respond over their own telephones, speaker phones allowing the greatest comfort and convenience. There are also webinar systems where the voice portion is carried on the internet as well.

How is a Webinar different from a phone meeting?

When attending a webinar the participants can view presentations, web sites, speaker notes, and even video that provides a greater understanding of the topic discussed. By using these tools, the speaker is able to show multi-media content that will make the presentation more interesting and better understood by all viewers than can be given on just a voice phone call.

What do I need to attend a Webinar?

T o attend a webinar, all that is needed is a computer connected to the internet and a phone line. The program that is used to view the presentation materials is on a web page and does not require the participants to download any software to their computer. Typically a phone line is used along with the webinar for voice communications.

Do I have to give my email address to attend a Webinar?

All participants will be requested to provide an email address that will be used for communicating about the webinar. These email addresses are never sold or used for sending unwanted spam messages.
Are the Webinars recorded for future viewing?

Yes.  Most webinars can be recorded and then posted on a web site where individuals can review the information presented or see programs that they were unable to attend. Viewing these recorded webinars only requires a computer connected to the internet.

Will I be pressured to buy something if I attend a Webinar?

No.  Our webinars are for providing information to interested individuals about Shaklee products and the Shaklee Opportunity. There is no pressure – or even request – to make any purchase at that time. Participants will be given links to web sites for additional information as well as to the Shaklee site where products can be purchased online. And any participant can contact the presenter individually to inquire further if they are interested.
